MEDIA CONCENTRATION: The Impact of Recent Mergers and the Potential of Pending Legislation
 


A discussion of trends in the media industry including the Disney-ABC/Cap Cities deal, Westinghouse's acquisition of CBS, Time Warner's acquisition of Turner Broadcasting, and AT&T's self-divestiture. The panel addressed how these developments affect, and are affected by, pending telecommunications legislation, as well as their impact on social issues, media content and media power.
