About the Conference


Technology and liberalization are opening communications markets around the world to international service provide rs. Yet existing international coordinating bodies do not have the authority to guide communications into the 21st century. Due to this uneven regulatory environment, investment strategies have not targeted the creation of internationally competing netw orks. Instead, carriers develop entry into new markets through privatization, wireless services, cable, or multinational alliances. Issues discussed included:
