About the Conference

International telecommunications, for more than a century, were almost always collaborations of territorial or service monopolies. What is new is that telecommunication organizations begin to cross borders. One issue which arises concerns the effects on finance and capital formation. The transborder telecommunications providers require substantial capital investment in a far riskier and performance oriented environment than has historically been the case. Other issues concern the marketing in new panregional markets, the changing equipment sector, and the internationalization of local business services.
