The Columbia Institute for Tele-Information (CITI) will host Erkki Liikanen, the EU Commissioner responsible for Enterprise and Information Society. Mr. Liikanen heads EU policy development and coordination for the deployment of broadband communications. Mr. Liikanen will speak on the ways in which the European countries are meeting or stimulating the demands for information transmission and interconnection. He will also describe the EU's e-Europe initiative.
