Morris Holbrook
is a Professor of Marketing at Columbia Business School. His research
focuses on the validity of perceptual and preference mapping, and consumer
aesthetics applied to responses toward radio listening, jazz recordings,
classical music, etc. He has frequently worked on communication issues
relevant to advertising, most notably in an area which he terms consumer
esthetics: the manner in which artworks communicate with their audiences.
He has published in several research journals.
