Hugh Patrick is R.D. Calkins Professor of International Business and Director of the Center on Japanese Economy and Business at the Columbia Business School. He is a leading specialist on the Japanese economy and on the economics relations of Pacific Basin countries. Professor Patrick co-organized the Institute conference "Telecommunications in the Pacific Basin" (1988). His publications include Pacific Basin Industries in Distress, Regulating International Financial Markets, and Japanese High Technology Industries: Lessons and Limitations of Industrial Policy.
